Project Manager/Business Analyst
Our Client has developed proprietary Spend Management software that enables organisations to control, analyse and manage their spending in a real-time environment. The software is aimed at mid-sized organizations and has been deployed to several prominent companies over the last year including JP Morgan, American Express, Truworths, Totalgaz, Mr Price, Showtime Arabia and Hollard Insurance. The solution integrates into most mid range ERP platforms and is utilized by thousands of users in Europe, Middle East and Africa
Our Client is looking for a Project Manager for their Johannesburg office. The person will be responsible for:
• Project managing client site implementations of the full suite of modules. This includes all aspects of service delivery, including ensuring client satisfaction throughout the implementation process, managing all individuals involved in the implementation, managing project timelines, as well as ensuring and reporting back on the profitability of individual implementation projects. Note that a typical implementation period will be between 10 and 14 weeks.
• Managing the roll out of the Travel and Expenses modules at clients of our Travel Management partner for the first 6 months. An understanding of the travel retail industry would be very beneficial.
• The successful candidate will also be expected to provide solid input on a more strategic level around aspects such as the implementation process, pricing of services outside of the implementations, etc.
• Performing business analysis to ensure the required fit between the client’s business process and the Clients software.
• Acting as liaison between the software provider project and implementation team, and the client with regards to further client requirements outside of the current client implementations. Note that software development skills or deep technical skills are not a necessity. A solid understanding of controls surrounding the development of software would be beneficial, , but the key requirements for this role are a sound understanding of project management skills, as well as very strong client handling skills.
• Providing regular feedback to the Research and Development team on bug-fixes and potential enhancements to the core product.
• Liaising with the Product Manager to ensure proper version control of the source code of the application when required.
• This position will report directly to the Head of Professional Services at the Head Office in Cape Town.
The project manager role will involve some travel. The company currently has clients in the rest of South Africa, East Africa, UK and Dubai, and the successful candidate may be required to travel to these clients and also to the head office in Cape Town. This will not be longer than a week at a time.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a 3 year Commerce degree or similar qualification, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
