It's been a while. Nice to see that the place is still standing :-)

Sort of... it's been really quiet here lately
Welcome back.. yeah as William said, its quiet. People seem to be busy these days. :P

I think it mostly has to do with the fact that the emails stopped working...
iService.co.za @heathesh Blog
I think it's mostly due to the fact that this place is totally reactive instead of pro-active.
Nothing gets updated/posted to this site with regards to trends in development / technology, etc.
The only information that does get posted here with any frequency is job vacancies by various employment agencies.

There's an idea, let us post our blogs here as well... Is that possible @Mods?
I chatted to Ruari at the Joburg DevDays 2010 event. What can we do to increase the "community" part of our SADev.Net community? Well, I guess start hanging around and posting some more like I am now! :-)
I'm going to hang around here more and post more, you? I love StackOverflow, but it's not local - it's not South African.
Allowing blogging would be a very cool idea. Lately the .dotnet.org site has been extremely slow and most of the time useless.
I think the forum is good for discussions, but not good for building a community anymore. Get SaDev on Facebook and Twitter, and give some experts a space to blog.
Unfortunately that won't help us much as most companies we work for block these 'social' sites... That means the community can only function 'after hours' or not at all.
An after hour community is still better than nothing. And yes, sadevs' community has almost dwindled to nothing.

True!
Greetings from Cape Town! I checked in this week after a looooooong time away and was glad to see some activity and some familiar names. I'll try and check in more regularly as well.
