How long does Google take (normally) to index pages?

    Hi all,

I have a small problem that I hope some of you can help me with. I maintain, develop and manage several websites for our parent company (their home site, various others). Now, they have Google analytics to measure site usage in all the static HTML pages (most of these sites are static HTML pages). I assume with Google Analytics it takes a lot less time (haven't worked with it a lot myself.)

My question is, how long does Google take to index pages with and without Google Analytics?

    Thank you

    Hi horatio,

my IT teacher (eventually student, muaha) used to tell us that Google took an average of two weeks. I can believe it because when I put up my rubber band ball site it took about that long...

I'm going to regret forging this...

    That sounds about right.

I assume you hosted it in SA, right?

The issue I have is with websites that I develop and maintain that are hosted in the U.K. A developer there told me he put up a new website and a few (short) days later, Google had indexed it.

I think Google will index faster in the U.K. than here.

    Thanks anyway,

    Regards,

Google finds your site faster if you register on their following website tools -

    http://www.google.com/analytics/

    http://www.google.com/webmasters/

Google indexing also relies on networking, by that I mean, the more external links pointing to your website and the number of visitors drastically improves your search ranking.

Having the right sort of keyword combinations also assists with a higher ranking in a keyword search and can be the difference between being ranked 50 when searching for "foo" or a number 1 ranking if searching for "foo bar".
