Re: BizTalk User Group ... Jhb

Evening sessions would be easier, if not possible; morning sessions would do.

This is a great initiative, as the SA community has been living in Silos when coming to BizTalk and all things Integration.

Let us as the community make this work and contribute where we can contribute.

looking forward to seeing you guys at the Tech-Ed chalk & talk sessions. Wink

Re: BizTalk User Group ... Jhb

    Hi Ryan,

The BizTalk Usergroup webcasts will start shortly after Teched, as most of the planning is focused around this, there a lot of prep that goes into presenting a session, which is demo god free. There is not really much wait for the international guys, and the content will be first class. I met personally with most of the European BizTalk MVP's three weeks ago, and we all agreed it was a fantastic idea and would be very keen to participate. I have the support of MS locally, and globally in the UK. I feel it’s better to think globally rather than limited to just locally in JHB.

As I'm all over my self, in the Cape and KZN, not just JHB, attending an event physically is a challenge; MS agrees with this, the whole purpose is to drive BizTalk exposure to the region, with topics across all areas.

I'm happy to discuss this openly, or if you like, let’s get together at Teched.

Everyone is welcome to attend BizTalk party at Teched, there's going to be plenty of giveaways, and some surprises, I look forward to seeing you all there.

    Paul.

    Paul,

I think you are misunderstanding my intentions with this.

I am not saying that this is initiative should replace your one. On the contrary! I believe your contacts and the linking up with the international communities and the world class content coming from this will be great. All I'm saying is that it would be great if we could combine the two together. ie. Broadcast said webcasts at a meeting of the local community.

I believe a phsycial presence where we can meet and phsyically discuss rather than a virtual web based only type of thing is essential for the group to thrive; some people do not have facilities available personally to view these kind of sessions. When you throw a bunch of guys into a room together it is much easier to bounce ideas off each other and learn from each other than in a pure virtual environment.

I do believe this is something that can work and is needed in Jhb. Once it works here we can extend this to the greater SA community by establishing UG's in each major region.

Frikkie from Microsoft was very excited about this UG today when I spoke with him and we will be going ahead with it. If you could join us and contribute that would be great; if you're too all over yourself all over the country  Stick out tongue then I understand.

I'll try make it to as many of the BizTalk specific sessions @ TechEd as possible and will most certainly be at the BizTalk party; sadly time and project pressures prevent me from attending the full conference.

    Ciao

    Ryan

I didn't see you at teched, or you didn't identify your self to me where you there?

I try and make it to most events, will see if I can make the JHB one, as the company I work for likes to send me around talking about BizTalk, and the concepts, and don't have much of a problem with me talking at these events, if I'm in the city.
