Gunther Lenz leads the global research efforts for Software Factories and Microsoft technologies within Siemens Corporate Technology worldwide. He focuses on Model-Driven Software Development (MDSD), automated guidance in context and Software Factories. He is an invited member of an expert advisory board for Microsoft, and received the Microsoft MVP Solution Architect award.

In this session he will focus on the work done in the area of Software Product Line Engineering, showing how they were able to boost productivity of software product development efforts based on systematic reuse and highly efficient software development automation technologies, in the context of Software Product Families.

Niclas Nilsson is a software development coach, consultant, educator and writer with a deep passion for the software development craft. He started working as a developer in 1992 and knows that some choices make a significant difference in software development, like languages, tools, communication and processes.

This will give insight of what the differences are between dynamic languages like Ruby, Python and Groovy and traditional, statically typed, curly bracket languages like C#, Java and C++. Many questions will be answered and you will also see how dynamic languages can be added to, and used within, systems that are built in Java, C# and C++ - which may mean that you could benefit from dynamic languages sooner than you thought.
