It’s difficult to describe this Client because the way they work is so different to the norm on the markets; my client builds customisable B2B solutions that are integrated into their environment and hosted by them. The environment is a small but successful one, due to the nature of the business it is not necessary to have huge teams of Developers in the field; they are a small highly skilled team of Developers with huge amounts of skills development available to more Junior people. This is an environment for people who love coding and want to code as a career, it will not offer much to the person who sees architecture and development as a stepping stone into management.
This role specifically is perfect for someone passionate about front end work, usability, HCI etc… Your role will be to design and build the many front ends used by their Clients to access the systems hosted by your Employer. You will find yourself building the EUL’s as well as the middleware accessing the various systems. This role involves client analysis and interfacing; design and code.
The core skills needed:
2 – 3 years commercial coding experience;
Experience building web based applications using the .NET Framework specifically C#.NET and ASP.NET;
Java / AJAX scripting skills;
XML Transformation;
Some SQL development skills needed;
Most importantly – graphical user interface design experience and an interest in all things front end; some formal training on Usability would be advantageous.
Permanent, Rosebank, negotiable between R25K – R35K ctc per annum
