Traditional development approaches do not cater for today’s fast moving enterprises constant reinvention of their business models to gain competitive edges; my client has done away with rigid, slow, labour intensive approaches in favour of effective development process, framework and guidance. This is not to say that strong planning and design are done away with; in fact my client are strong believers in the Microsoft Patterns and Practices; quite the opposite they believe that through proper planning and design problems, delays and poor quality can be headed off before they have major impacts on the project itself. In this role you will find yourself working on projects won, managed and controlled by your Employer – you will NOT find yourself shipped off to be managed by the client; you will find yourself being managed and mentored by proven Technologists with huge amounts of experience doing your job in the past – these people know the problems you face and understand the realities of producing successful code. Most of all though you will find yourself working for a company committed to “early adoption” who believe that advanced technology makes for less problematic delivery as long as it is managed and planned properly and with care.
Your role will be involved in designing and coding integrated solutions for a payment company. This is a device focused system with high performance middleware to process requests from the devices.
You need:
Between 4 and 6 years commercial coding experience;
Solid coding fundamentals;
2 – 3 years C# coding experience with C# 2.0 and ideally knowledge of C# 3.5;
ASP.NET;
WCF – Windows Communication Foundation;
Strong SQL 2005 coding skills ideally with SQL 2008 knowledge;
Advantageous skills:
C# 3.5;
Biztalk or a willingness to learn it from a local Master;
TFS and knowledge of Agile development methods;
Enterprise Library;
Service Factory;
WWF, WPF;
Silverlight.
Permanent; Rosebank, negotiable between R400K and R450K ctc per annum
