(CAPE TOWN BASED)
Approximate cost to company package from R284 835 to R331 980 per annum.
MAIN RESPONSBILITIES
System analysis, design, development, maintenance of COBOL code and JCL
Programming according to standards and specifications
Setting up of test beds and submitting of jobs to ensure thorough testing of new code
Produce Code according to given requirements / documentation
Debug COBOL and/or JCL abends
Provide support to other members of the team and user base
Includes the Converting of Data from third-party applications into a given format
May serve as technical project lead
Liaison with US counterparts
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel
Creates appropriate work documentation for assignments, such as program code and technical documentation;
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Minimum of 5 years COBOL and JCL experience
Experience with VSAM, DB2, CICS, Eztrieve, Assembler is beneficial
Experience in a data conversion project is beneficial
EDUCATION
Matric and COBOL certification
